How can I get cheaper gas and electricity?
To help you save on your monthly gas and electric bills, it’s best to compare your gas and electricity plans at least once a year to ensure you’re not overpaying for your energy usage. As an NRMA member, you can take advantage of ENGIE's competitive energy rates and plans as well as enjoy special member offers to help you lower your household costs and enjoy cheaper electricity and gas all-year round.
How much does electricity cost?
- Peak – Typically occurs late afternoon and evenings Monday to Friday when electricity costs are at their highest.
- Shoulder – These rates usually occur in between peak and off-peak periods and cost slightly less than peak times.
- Off-peak – Electricity rates at this time are the cheapest, such as overnight and are outside peak and shoulder times. If you are looking to save on your electric bills, then this would be a good time to put your dishwasher or washing machine on.
Does ENGIE offset carbon emissions?
When you sign up to a new energy plan with ENGIE, they’ll offset carbon emissions from your energy usage.
There’s nothing more you need to do except feel good.
For every tonne of emissions you make, ENGIE will purchase one tonne of emission offsets. These are in the form of certificates from projects that absorb or ease the production of CO2. Certificates are sourced from activities that meet standards set by Climate Active. Visit the ENGIE website to find out more.
