How much does it cost to hire a car in Hobart?
The price of car hire in Hobart is influenced by numerous factors including:

If you want to keep costs low, why not book a car outside of peak periods such as Christmas and school holidays which is when you can expect higher demand and increased fees. Can I pick up and drop off my car out of hours?
The SIXT Hobart Airport branch allows for 24-hour returns. Simply return your hire car to the SIXT car rental car park and drop the keys in the after-hours box on the counter inside the airport terminal.
Can I collect my car from Hobart Airport and return elsewhere?
Absolutely. SIXT offers one-way car rentals from Hobart Airport to other SIXT locations across Tasmania including Hobart City, Launceston, Launceston Airport and Burnie. Consider driving the whole of Tasmania or just in-between Hobart and Launceston if short on time. Note: one-way fees apply.
Can I drive anywhere in Tasmania?
SIXT vehicles can be driven anywhere on the map including Bruny Island, however you are not covered whilst the vehicle is on the Bruny Island ferry.
Are there petrol stations within Hobart CBD?
There are no petrol stations within the CBD, but you can find various service stations close by including Ampol on Macquarie Street in South Hobart. We recommend refueling your car before you return the vehicle. As an NRMA member, you can also save up to 5 cents per litre at participating Ampol service stations*.
