The hotel

The hotel is situated at the edge of the airport, adjacent to the Tasman Highway. Free shuttle buses run between the hotel and airport terminal between 7am and 5pm every day; shuttles can also be arranged after hours. The 78 room property has been designed with travellers in mind – reception is staffed 24/7, parking is free and luggage storage is available. Business amenities include free wifi throughout the hotel, as well as conference facilities. There’s also a restaurant and bar on site plus room service. Hotel staff can recommend attractions in the city, check flight times and other airport information, and provide details about the nearby golf courses.

The rooms

All rooms at the hotel feature double glazed windows and air conditioning to ensure a good night’s sleep. The standard guest rooms can be booked in king or twin bed configurations and feature ironing facilities, large bathrooms with hairdryers, TVs with cable and tea and coffee facilities. Opt for an executive room in king or twin configurations for a spacious separate lounge area and the option of a spa bath (contact the hotel directly to request this). Or book a family suite in king or twin configurations for all the space of an executive room plus an interconnected additional bedroom. Minibar items are available from reception.

The neighbourhood

The hotel is just moments from two of Tasmania’s most highly regarded golf courses. Golf Park Hobart is a well known course for beginners and families but is also perfectly playable for seasoned golfers. Club hire is available and PGA professional Daniel Blackwell offers coaching lessons by appointment. Nearby, on scenic Barilla Bluff, is Tasmania Golf Club, a splendid championship level course. After your game, visit Barilla Bay Oyster Farm to sample southern Tasmanian oysters in the sophisticated restaurant and the ginger beer made on site, or simply to tour the impressive facilities. For a dose of culture, head to the extraordinary Museum of Old and New Art (MONA) – it’s located on Hobart’s outskirts but there is an express bus that travels directly between the airport and the museum (ask hotel staff for details). During the warmer months, head to stately Seven Mile Beach, about 4km from the hotel, for swimming and surfing.
