Current fuel prices and prediction

  • The average price for regular unleaded fuel in Sydney is 178.2 cents per litre (Monday afternoon).
  • Average regular unleaded prices have fallen 11.1 cents per litre this past week and are now expected to fall to low-170s over the next 7-10 days.
  • The average diesel price in Sydney is 191.0 cents per litre.
  • Regional prices: Last week average prices for regular unleaded fell 1.2 cents per litre while diesel fell 0.9 cents per litre.

World Crude Oil Prices

Over the previous week the average:

  • Tapis crude fell $US 0.5 per barrel to $US 77.7 per barrel.
  • Mogas (unleaded price benchmark) rose $US 1.1 per barrel to $US 86.9 per barrel.
  • Gasoil (diesel price benchmark) rose $US 0.9 per barrel to $US 92.7 per barrel.

Sydney Wholesale Prices

Over the previous week the average:

  • Regular unleaded fuel rose 0.5 cents per litre to 169.7 cents per litre.
  • Diesel fuel fell 0.1 cents per litre to 174.6 cents per litre.

Sydney Diesel Prices

Sydney diesel prices fell 1.0 cent per litre this past week. Current average diesel price is 191.0 cents per litre.

Looking Ahead

Average regular unleaded prices have fallen 11.1 cents per litre this past week and are now expected to fall to low-170s over the next 7-10 days.

Average regular unleaded prices in Sydney should range between 202 cents per litre (at the high point of the current cycle) and 173 cents per litre (at the low point of the cycle).

The average price ranges for E10, Premium 95 and Premium 98 should be as follows:

  • E10 – a high point of 200 cents per litre and a high point of 171 cents per litre.
  • Premium 95 –  a high point of 221 cents per litre and a low point of 191 cents per litre.
  • Premium 98  – a high point of 226 cents per litre and a high point of 196 cents per litre.

Sydney's current average diesel price is 191.0 cents per litre – down 1.0 cent per litre this past week.

The current average LPG price in Sydney is 105.3 cents per litre – up 0.1 cents per litre this past week.
