Current fuel prices and prediction
- The average price for regular unleaded fuel in Sydney is 195.4 cents per litre (Monday afternoon).
- Average regular unleaded prices rose 13.4 cents per litre last week, and are now expected to rise to the low 210s cents per litre this week.
- The average diesel price in Sydney is 196.2 cents per litre.
- Regional prices: Last week average prices for regular unleaded rose 2.9 cents per litre while diesel prices rose 1.0 cents per litre.
World Crude Oil Prices
Over the previous week the average:
- Tapis crude fell $US 0.6 per barrel to $US 85.8 per barrel.
- Mogas (unleaded price benchmark) fell $US 1.8 per barrel to $US 97.2 per barrel.
- Gasoil (diesel price benchmark) fell $US 2.4 per barrel to $US 100.6 per barrel.
Sydney Wholesale Prices
Over the previous week the average:
- Regular unleaded fuel fell 2.9 cents per litre to 174.1 cents per litre.
- Diesel fuel fell 3.6 cents per litre to 177.7 cents per litre.
Sydney Diesel Prices
Sydney diesel prices rose 0.9 cents per litre this past week. Current average diesel price is 196.2 cents per litre.
Looking Ahead
Average regular unleaded prices rose 13.4 cents per litre last week, and are now expected to rise to the low 210s cents per litre this week.
Average regular unleaded prices in Sydney should range between 181 cents per litre (at the low point of the current cycle) and 210 cents per litre (at the high point of the next cycle).
The average price ranges for E10, Premium 95 and Premium 98 should be as follows:
- E10 – a low point of 180 cents per litre and a high point of 209 cents per litre.
- Premium 95 – a low point of 197 cents per litre and a high point of 226 cents per litre.
- Premium 98 – a low point of 204 cents per litre and a high point of 233 cents per litre.
Sydney's current average diesel price is 196.2 cents per litre – rose 0.9 cents per litre this past week.
The current average LPG price in Sydney is 101.8 cents per litre – up 0.1 cents per litre this past week.
