Current fuel prices and prediction
- The average price for regular unleaded fuel in Sydney is 179.7 cents per litre (Monday afternoon).
- Average regular unleaded prices fell 15.6 cents per litre last week, and are now expected to fall to the mid 160s cents per litre over the next 2-3 weeks.
- The average diesel price in Sydney is 179.0 cents per litre.
- Regional prices: Last week average prices for regular unleaded rose 0.4 cents per litre and diesel rose 0.5 cents per litre.
World Crude Oil Prices
Over the previous week the average:
- Tapis crude rose $US 2.4 per barrel to $US 76.7 per barrel.
- Mogas (unleaded price benchmark) rose $US 2.2 per barrel to $US 85.6 per barrel.
- Gasoil (diesel price benchmark) rose $US 3.6 per barrel to $US 90.7 per barrel.
Sydney Wholesale Prices
Over the previous week the average:
- Regular unleaded fuel rose 1.7 cents per litre to 162.4 cents per litre.
- Diesel fuel rose 3.2 cents per litre to 167.0 cents per litre.
Sydney Diesel Prices
Sydney diesel prices rose 0.8 cents per litre this past week. Current average diesel price is 179.0 cents per litre.
Looking Ahead
Average regular unleaded prices fell 15.6 cents per litre last week, and are now expected to fall to the mid 160s cents per litre over the next 2-3 weeks.
Average regular unleaded prices in Sydney should range between 196 cents per litre (at the high point of the current cycle) and 166 cents per litre (at the low point of the cycle).
The average price ranges for E10, Premium 95 and Premium 98 should be as follows:
- E10 – a high point of 195 cents per litre and a low point of 164 cents per litre.
- Premium 95 – a high point of 214 cents per litre and a low point of 184 cents per litre.
- Premium 98 – a high point of 219 cents per litre and a low point of 190 cents per litre.
Sydney's current average diesel price is 179.0 cents per litre – up 0.8 cents per litre this past week.
The current average LPG price in Sydney is 101.7 cents per litre – up 0.2 cents per litre this past week.
