Tuesday 14 January 2025: Manly Fast Ferry today unveiled its new Australian designed, manufactured and installed cabin interiors and a new on-board bar menu that includes iconic beers and spirits brewed and distilled on the northern beaches.

The new interiors reflect premier Australian craftsmanship and a renewed push for everything Australian made. Included in the upgrades are designated priority seating and an on-board bar stocked full with local favourites Four Pines and Manly Spirits.

The Manly Wharf to Circular Quay commute is undoubtedly one of the world’s most enjoyable public transport rides to work and home, seamlessly gliding passengers across the world’s most famous harbour in just over 15 minutes.

The added benefits of a cold beverage leaves the service unique amongst its peers nationwide.

The refurbished Ocean Rider has been launched today with the remaining 5 vessels across the Manly Fast Ferry Fleet scheduled to be refurbishment by June.

NRMA Chief Operating Officer Marine, Nigel Ellsmore said the latest upgrades reflected Manly Fast Ferry’s commitment to local industry and providing passengers - both locals and tourists - with the very best Australia had to offer.

“As part of the NRMA Group, Manly Fast Ferry is a proudly Australian owned operator and when we undertook these upgrades it was an obvious choice to support local jobs, industry and manufacturing,” Mr Ellsmore said.

“The support for local businesses can even be found at the on-board bar, where one can finish the day with a cold, northern beaches-brewed 4 Pines Beer or an award-winning nip of Manly Spirits.

“Travelling over the world’s best harbour by ferry is a quintessentially Sydney experience and for Manly Fast Ferry passengers that journey is about to get even better. Passenger numbers swell in summer with people heading to Manly Beach and now they will do so in even greater comfort.

“These upgrades will also be warmly welcomed by locals when they are returning to work from the CBD after a busy day.”

New upgrades include:

  • New cabin seating with a fresh seating arrangement and designated priority seating in a contemporary colour palette
  • New window treatments to enhance overall aesthetic of the ferry and comfort
  • Improved Accessibility with Wider entry doorways and aisles for improved wheel chair access and for parents with prams
  • New flooring with a two-toned timber-look vinyl
  • Upgraded restrooms with new pans and contemporary wall treatments; and
  • A new bar area making a cold beer even more enjoyable.
