Northern Beaches Resident Natalie Walker has joined the NRMA Board as an appointed non-Executive Director representing the Harbour region in Sydney.
Ms Walker is the Founder and Managing Director of Inside Policy, which advises government agencies to develop and improve social and economic policies. She has over 16 years’ experience working across business, government and not-for-profit sectors.
Ms Walker has been appointed to fill a casual vacancy on the board as a non-Executive Director following the retirement of sitting Director Tim Trumper. The NRMA board Harbour region encompasses Sydney’s Northern Beaches, North Shore, CBD, Inner West and Eastern Suburbs.
During her career she has held policy and advisory positions at KPMG, the Australian Human Rights Commission and the Queensland Department of Communities.
Prior to Inside Policy, Ms Walker was founding CEO at Supply Nation, Australia’s largest national directory for Indigenous Businesses. Supply Nation aims to grow Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander businesses through the promotion of supplier diversity.
As a Kuku Yalanji woman from the Daintree Rainforest, Ms Walker has dedicated her career to reforming social policies that help to make Australia a better place for all. She has been named one of Australia’s 100 Women of Influence by the Australian Financial Review.
In addition to representing NRMA members who live in her local region Ms Walker’s expertise will also help the Board in its constitutionally-driven focus of growing the NRMA membership, delivering value to members and advocating for positive change.
Ms Walker said she was excited to join the NRMA Board to represent a region she had lived in for 23 years.
“I’m proud to be joining one of Australia’s most trusted organisations. As a local Northern Beaches resident and NRMA Member, I’m committed to advocating on behalf of all of our Members who live in the Harbour Region,” Ms Walker said.
“Cost of living pressures like fuel prices continue to impact families across Sydney and I’m proud to be joining an organisation that works solely of the benefit of its Members.
“It’s an honour to be replacing Tim Trumper as the NRMA Director for this region who served our members so well for the 11 years he was on the Board.
“I look forward to building on that service and look forward to applying my experience in business, governance and advocacy to the Board of this iconic brand.
“I have lived in the Harbour region for over 23 years and I understand the transport and cost of living pressures our members face across Sydney every day. I am committed to working with my fellow directors to fight for meaningful policy outcomes that will benefit all NRMA members.”
Ms Walker’s Board position commences today.
