Current fuel prices and prediction

• The current average price for regular unleaded fuel in Sydney is 177.4 cents per litre (Monday evening)
• Average regular unleaded prices continue to fall.
• Current average diesel price is 215.4 cents per litre.
• Regional prices: Last week average prices for regular unleaded fell 2.7 cents per litre and diesel prices fell 8.8 cents per litre.

World Crude Oil Prices

Over the previous week the average:

• Tapis crude fell $US 10.4 per barrel to $US 104.9 per barrel.
• Mogas (unleaded price benchmark) fell $US 13.6 per barrel to $US 122.2 per barrel.
• Gasoil (diesel price benchmark) fell $US 17.3 per barrel to $US 143.9 per barrel.

Sydney Wholesale Prices

Over the previous week the average for:

• Regular unleaded fell 15.3 cents per litre to 163.6 cents per litre.
• Diesel fuel fell 20.5 cent per litre to 189.8 cents per litre.

Looking Ahead

Average regular unleaded prices continue to fall.

Falling wholesale price movements should translate to continued price falls at the bowser over the next week.

Average regular unleaded prices –  177.4 cents per litre – have fallen 57.3 cents per litre from the 30 March high of 257.8 cents per litre.

The average price increase for E10, Premium 95 and Premium 98 are as follows:

• E10 –  175.3 cents per litre have fallen 56.7 cents per litre from the 30 March high of 255.7 cents per litre.
• Premium 95  –   194.3 cents per litre have fallen 56.7 cents per litre from the 30 March high of 274.4 cents per litre.
• Premium 98  –   201.9 cents per litre have fallen 57.7 cents per litre from the 30 March high of 282.7 cents per litre.

Sydney’s current average diesel price at 215.4 cents per litre – continues to fall.

The global benchmark Gasoil price movements continue to be volatility. Downwards price movements are expected going forward due to falling wholesale prices.

The current average LPG price in Sydney is 114.4 cents per litre – up 0.3 cents per litre this past week.
