Where is Symbio Wildlife Park?
The park is just 40 minutes south of the Sydney International Airport in the suburb of Helensburgh. Located on the top of the Illawarra escarpment, visitors are in easy reach of other attractions including Stanwell Park Beach, Royal National Park, the iconic Sea Cliff Bridge and Bald Hill Lookout.

How do I get to Symbio Wildlife Park from Sydney?
By car
From Sydney CBD, follow the Princes Highway through Sutherland and Waterfall before joining the Princes Motorway (M1). Take the Helensburgh/Stanwell Park turnoff. Follow the signs for Symbio through the roundabout. The park will be on your right-hand side.
By public transport
Catch a train to Helensburgh Station and then take a bus (route 15) which runs from Helensburgh Station to Stanwell Park via the zoo. This bus journey takes approximately 15 minutes. We recommend checking the Transport NSW website before you travel.

- Picnic Areas: Include 16 acres of picturesque gardens and natural bushland, with plenty of green spaces and three covered areas with fixed tables and chairs
- Playground: Two flying foxes, swings, slides, climbing walls, fortress and in-ground trampolines
- Splash Park: Water-based park open all year round with fountains, dump buckets and water squirters
- Kiosk: Serves a variety of hot and cold food and beverages every day including, sandwiches, wraps, burgers, hot dogs, hot chips, fresh salads, ice creams, sweets and soft drinks
- Gift Shop: Stocks an extensive range of Australian souvenirs, toys, books, backpacks and clothing
- Disabled access: Disabled parking is close to the park entrance as well as there being:
- Wide entry gates
- Gentle slopes
- Mainly paved pathways
- Brand new all-accessible amenities block
Can I take food inside?
Yes, you are welcome to bring food and non-alcoholic drinks with you into the wildlife park, which can be enjoyed within the extensive picturesque gardens and picnic areas. Guests can also bring small portable gas barbeques (max 9kg bottle) to use for their picnics.
