The park
A favourite northern retreat for families looking for an easy, affordable tropical getaway, the park offers a range of facilities to make your stay truly enjoyable (and easy). Take advantage of a barbecue area and camp kitchen, shared amenities, lounge and TV area, free wifi, tour booking desk and an on site kiosk. Situated mere steps from the golden arc of Palm Cove’s gorgeous, palm lined beach, and just a five minute stroll south to the bustling local village, the park perfectly brings together coastal bliss with convenience.
The accommodation
In an effort to bring you completely back to nature, the park offers two accommodation options: powered and unpowered sites suitable for tents, caravans, motorhomes and small campervans. The spacious sites are set on grass and are located close to the amenities block, camp kitchen, water, as well as the shared lounge and TV area. Summer travellers will also be happy to find many tree shaded sites to choose from.
The neighbourhood
You could decide to take it easy and stroll the esplanade, or visit local boutiques and restaurants, such as Vivo Palm Cove or Nu Nu (both are beachfront dining at its absolute best). For a night out, Apres Beach Bar & Grill is excellent; order some divine seafood and kick back to the sounds of live music by local and interstate artists. If, however, a real holiday means a complete gear change, Beach Fun Co is your on-water specialist: here you can hire a jetski, catamaran, paddle boat, stand up paddleboard, kayak, boogie board, or fishing boat. Or all seven! Ratchet up the adrenaline with Raging Thunder's white water rafting on the mighty Tully River, regarded as Australia’s premier rafting location, with Grade 3 to 4 rapids plunging through World Heritage rainforest. Cape Tribulation is also worth a day visit – hop aboard a car ferry and traverse the Daintree River to experience the blissful sanctuary of World Heritage listed rainforest and gaze upon spectacular coral reefs. Make a stop at Cow Bay for organic fruit ice cream made with dairy from the Atherton Tablelands, then explore an exotic fruit farm and taste chocolate pudding fruits.
