The park

Bright is a quick three and a half hour drive from Melbourne (just under two hours from Albury) and is just moments from both Mount Buffalo National Park and Alpine National Park. The holiday park is in the heart of town and enjoys a tranquil position on gently sloping lawns beside Morses Creek. Modern facilities include a sparkling camp kitchen, a children’s playground and a heated outdoor swimming pool with spa, plus a store for essential supplies and free wifi to keep you connected. Families are particularly well catered for with a babies’ bathroom, free mini golf and free kids’ activities during school holidays. Pets are also welcome however; a pet policy does apply.

The accommodation

The holiday park offers a wide range of accommodation options, including traditional powered and unpowered camping sites, plus ensuite sites for visitors who’d prefer private bathroom facilities. The shared dorm rooms are ideal for solo travellers or groups of friends and include access to a shared lounge with fireplace. Exclusive use dorm style rooms sleep up to five. There’s also a range of sizable cabins and villas, each sleeping between three and five people and equipped with all your comforts of home, such as air conditioning, full kitchens and TVs with free Foxtel. Larger units have verandahs, some with private barbecues, and many overlook Morses Creek.

The neighbourhood

There’s a surprisingly large number of great places to eat and drink in this small town, and they’re almost all within a short stroll of the holiday park. Ginger Baker is a local favourite for good reason – it serves amazing breakfasts, lunches and dinners made with local produce, makes consistently excellent coffee and hosts live music outdoors on warm evenings. Coral Lee is a delightfully retro cafe specialising in homemade desserts and hearty salads, and the Riverdeck Cafe has a great vibe, particularly on summer nights when it serves up specialty cocktails and on winter afternoons when locals gather around the fireplace.

Pop in to Bright Brewery to sample local craft beer, or visit the bustling Alpine Hotel, which dates from the 1850s, for pub fun and gourmet pizzas. Don’t leave town without ticking off the cultural attractions – Bright Art Gallery & Cultural Centre and Bright Museum – and if you need to escape the elements, visit the town’s retro jewel, Cloud 9 Cinema, for the latest movies, nostalgic cocktails and local wines.
