The serene, beachfront Ningaloo Reef Resort is situated beside one of the world’s most beautiful marine parks and is brimming with modern amenities.

The comfortable, self contained rooms – many with views of the ocean – offer privacy and connectivity, while the onsite licensed cafe and pool are enticing places to relax. From here, the wonders of Ningaloo Reef are within easy reach.

The park

The resort is located in Coral Bay, a scenic small town about 12 hours’ drive from Perth or a 100 minute drive from Exmouth. Roads are sealed and suitable for 2WD vehicles and caravans. Learmonth Airport, which receives flights from Perth daily, is an 80 minute drive away. The resort occupies a prime position directly facing a beautiful sandy beach, and all the amenities of the town are within a few minutes’ walk. Spread across the spacious grounds you’ll find facilities such as the al fresco Shades Cafe serving breakfast, lunch and dinner (with a fully licensed bar), a sparkling swimming pool with loungers and shade nearby, and sheltered barbecue facilities.

The accommodation

Three distinct accommodation types make it easy to tailor your stay at the resort. The studio style castaway and beachcomber units sleep four and five people respectively, and are a great choice for young families or groups of friends. These ground floor units feature air conditioning, in  house movies and verandahs to catch the morning sun or evening breeze. The spacious one bedroom apartments sleep up to six – choose between a garden view or ocean view – and feature the same comforts and amenities as the studio style units. Upgrade to a two bedroom apartment, called the grand, to sleep up to eight people and enjoy a full bath plus internal laundry. Or splash out on the one bedroom penthouse, which sleeps two, for sweeping ocean views, a spa bath and a king bed.

The neighbourhood

The simplest and quickest way to experience the Ningaloo Reef Marine Park is simply to walk out of your accommodation and onto the beach. Don a snorkel, step into the sea and prepare to be amazed by the abundance of life all around you. If you’ve left your snorkelling gear at home, hire some from Ningaloo Reef Dive & Snorkel. The coast attracts different marine life at different times of year. Visit between April and July to swim with whale sharks, or in May for the annual Whaleshark Festival, book a trip in spring to see baby reef sharks, or arrive between June and November to witness the humpback whale migration. Check in with Coral Bay’s main tour operators, Coral Bay Tours, Coral Bay Eco Tours and Coastal Adventure Tours for the best seasonal cruises and diving expeditions – there are always plenty to choose from. While you’re in town, sample the ever changing seafood menu at outdoor favourite Fin’s Café, visit Bill’s for classy pub fare and great cocktails and pop into Coral Resort Bakery for the best lamingtons on the coast.
