St John Ambulance has been a business member for nearly 30 years, delivering first aid services to the Australian community since 1883. Dedicated to helping people in sickness, distress, suffering or danger the organisations aim is to have at least one person in every household, workplace or event either prepared or able to give first aid to someone who is sick or injured.
Each week in NSW, St John Ambulance volunteers are in attendance at over 100 event locations. They have over 3,500 volunteers attending in excess of 5,700 events per year ranging from local football matches, right up to large events such as the Royal Easter Show, City to Surf and Sydney's New Year's Eve celebrations.
With events or emergencies in both metro and regional locations it's imperative their fleet of over 170 vehicles are kept maintained and are ready to respond.
St John Ambulance NSW CEO Scott Johnston says, "Keeping our vehicles on the road, safe and reliable, is key to providing our community service. It's really important to have a partner such as the NRMA, who we have been with for nearly 30 years to provide services for us such as vehicle servicing to ensure our fleet is maintained and ready to respond to emergencies as required."
Business membership has an average response time of under 40 minutes for roadside assistance call outs and in 93% of the time we're able to get vehicles back on the road, meaning that St John Ambulance are confident that their vehicles, staff and volunteers will always be able to deliver their important lifesaving work in the community.
