World Crude Oil Prices
Over the previous week:

  • The average crude oil price in Asia fell 4.7 cents per litre; and

  • Sydney’s Terminal Gate Price for regular unleaded decreased 6.8 cents per litre to 127.9 cents per litre.

Sydney Prices
Sydney’s last price cycle lasted 24 days, 2 days shorter than the previous cycle. Today is day 25 of the current price cycle, with the average price for regular unleaded fuel in Sydney at 135.4 cents per litre (Monday morning).

Looking Ahead
Over the past week, the average Mogas price fell 6.4 cents per litre with the Australian dollar stable at 72.4 cents against the US dollar. Given current market forces, average unleaded petrol prices are expected to fall to least 130 cents per litre in the next 5-7 days.

Average regular unleaded prices in Sydney should range between 130 cents per litre (at the low point of the current cycle) and 149 cents per litre (at the high point of the next price cycle).

The average price ranges for E10, Premium 95 and Premium 98 should be as follows*:
E10 – a low point of 128 cents per litre and a high point of 147 cents per litre.
Premium 95a low point of 146 cents per litre and a high point of 165 cents per litre.
Premium 98a low point of 152 cents per litre and a high point of 171 cents per litre.

Sydney’s current average diesel price is 161.7 cents per litre – down 0.6 cents per litre this past week.

The current average LPG price in Sydney is 85.9 cents per litre – down 0.6 cents per litre this past week.
