Smart announces all-electric #1 urban crossover and #3 coupe pricing
This time around, the small car brand co-owned by Mercedes-Benz and Geely Holding will be imported and distributed exclusively by automotive retailer LSH Auto, which is now inviting reservations.
Pronounced “hashtag one” and “hashtag three”, the two vehicles are priced from $54,900 and $57,900 respectively before on-road costs, with three variants on offer for each.
Each model is available in an entry-level (yet high-spec) Pro+, a mid-range Premium with luxury additions, and a performance-focussed Brabus variant.

Pro+ inclusions include a panoramic halo roof, smart driver assist capability, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, LED headlights, electronic tailgate and 19-inch wheels.
The Premium variants of each model, on top of the Pro+ features, get “Cybersparks” LED and matrix headlights, a Beats audio system and leather upholstery.
Other features for the Premium and Brabus include a 10-inch heads-up display, an energy-saving heat pump and automated parking assist.
Specs include: 200kW power and 343Nm torque for both the Pro+ and Premium, enabling a sprint from 0 to 100km/h in 6.7 seconds from a rear-wheel drive (5.8 seconds for the #3 Pro+ and Premium.)
The high-performance Brabus variants take it up a notch, with an all-wheel drive format outputting 315kW power and 584Nm torque. This gives the sporty Brabus a spirited 3.9 second acceleration from 0-100km/h (3.7 seconds for the #3 Brabus.)
Complimenting these high specifications are a signature Brabus drive mode, 20-inch wheel, red calipers on the brakes and microsuede upholstery inside.
Going off overseas specs, all models are packed with a 66kWh battery that can charge at a top rate of 22kW on AC, and a top rate of 130kW for DC chargers (150kW for the Brabus.)
WLTP-tested driving range for the #1 Pro+ is 420km, and 440km for the #1 Premium, while the high-performance #1 Brabus sucks up the electrons, offering 400km WLTP.
The #3 Pro+ can drive 435km according to WLTP testing, while the #3 Premium does 455km and the #3 Brabus travels 415km. Note, real world range will be less depending on driving conditions and style.

While the ForTwo was a very compact 2.69m long, the #1 comes in at 4.27m. It’s also about 15cm wider at 1.82m, and 8cm taller at 1.63m.
The Smart #3 is bigger again at 4.4m long, and is 18cm wider at 1.84m, but has a lower profile, sitting at just 1.55m – about the same height as the ForTwo.
Styling is also considerably updated; both models feature rounded corners with a running lights across the nose and rear not too dissimilar to the latest Hyundai Kona EV. The sporty #3 contrasts its urban #1 stablemate with a lower, more streamlined profile.
Numerous colour options are available depending on model and variant including a range of two-tone options for up to $2060 extra. Interior colour options are either a charcoal grey, light grey or two-tone black and grey depending on exterior colour chosen.Early reservations placed by 28 August also get a free 7.4kW wall charger (installation fee not included) plus free 3-year/60,000km servicing, with deliveries starting in November.
