Central Coast results released: Rate Your Road survey
Wednesday 13 March 2019: Roads across the Northern Beaches and Mosman have featured prominently in the NRMA’s Rate Your Road election survey, which saw 23,400 people take part across the state – making it the state’s largest ever transport survey.
The survey was conducted to give the local community a say about road congestion and safety in the lead up to the March election. Participants were asked to rate their roads on a scale out of 100 based on safety, congestion and current condition.
Almost 500 people used Rate Your Road to have their say on local roads across the Northern Beaches and Mosman including:
- Mosman (314)
- Pittwater (115)
- Mosman (47)
Military Road at Mosman was ranked in to top 10 locations across NSW (8th) for congestion, further highlighting the need for a long-term solution to congestion in that part of Sydney. Key ratings for local roads all focused on congestion and included:
- Military Road Mosman with a rating of 54/100
- Spit Road Mosman with a rating of 50/100; and
- Pittwater Road at Mona Vale with a rating of 63/100
NRMA Chair and local Director Tim Trumper thanked the community for taking part in the NRMA’s Rate Your Road survey.
“It is clear that residents north of the Harbour Bridge are keen to see long-term solutions to the congestion that we have endured for decades. Regardless of whoever wins the March State Election and this year’s Federal Election, the results of this survey should act as a blueprint to ensure our state, and the local community, get the roads and public transport needed.”
Across NSW the roads to receive the highest number of votes were:
Rank | Road | Votes | Rank out of 100 |
1 | Pacific Highway | 1,092 | 50 |
2 | Princes Highway | 720 | 49 |
3 | Parramatta Road | 668 | 45 |
4 | M5 Motorway | 527 | 50 |
5 | Pennant Hills Road | 518 | 46 |
