This high speed journey travels between Palm Beach on Sydney’s Northern Beaches to Wagstaffe and Ettalong Beach on the lower Central Coast peninsula. Aim to arrive at the ferry wharf early, during the peak holiday period the ferry can get fairly packed and you may also need extra time to find an off-street parking spot.
9:00 – Board the Fantasea Fast Ferry at Palm Beach for Wagstaffe
Departing roughly every hour, the journey from Palm Beach to Ettalong via Wagstaffe is one of the most picturesque in the world. Spanning across four waterways from Pittwater, Broken Bay, the Entrance to the Hawkesbury River and Brisbane Waters, you’ll pass between the heads of Barrenjoey Headland and Box Head.
9:20 – Disembark at Wagstaffe
Slightly off the beaten track as you disembark from the ferry is the little-known residential town of Wagstaffe. Located on the Bouddi Peninsula and home to Pretty Beach, Hardys Bay, Killcare and Killcare Heights – a trip to Wagstaffe is almost a step back in time, with a General Store that functions as a café, newsagency and post office too. With known mobile blackspots, Wagtaffe and its stunning surrounds provide the perfect excuse to switch off from technology and get back to nature.
