Safari at Taronga Western Plains Zoo Dubbo, just a 20 minute bike down the river. Or venture back in time at Old Dubbo Gaol, where you can see the gallows and hangman’s kit at the preserved 19th century prison. Slow right down in hectares of undulating land at Dubbo Regional Botanic Garden and graze on a picnic in the traditional Japanese garden. Once your eyes are sated, take your tastebuds on a journey at the local farmers’ market (first and third Saturday of each month). Sample locally made preserves, jams and marinades at the Dubbo Visitor Information Centre and top it off with a glass of the award winning Red Earth Estate wine among the vines.
