Current fuel prices and prediction
- The average price for regular unleaded fuel in Sydney is 172.0 cents per litre (Monday afternoon).
- Average regular unleaded prices fell 7.6 cents per litre last week, and are now expected to fall to the mid 160s cents per litre over the next 7-10 days.
- The average diesel price in Sydney is 180.2 cents per litre.
- Regional prices: Last week average prices for regular unleaded fell 0.9 cents per litre while diesel rose 0.2 cents per litre.
World Crude Oil Prices
Over the previous week the average:
- Tapis crude fell US 2.0 per barrel to $US 74.7 per barrel.
- Mogas (unleaded price benchmark) fell $US 2.8 per barrel to $US 82.9 per barrel.
- Gasoil (diesel price benchmark) fell $US 3.1 per barrel to $US 87.6 per barrel.
Sydney Wholesale Prices
Over the previous week the average:
- Regular unleaded fuel fell 1.4 cents per litre to 160.9 cents per litre.
- Diesel fuel fell 1.8 cents per litre to 165.2 cents per litre.
Sydney Diesel Prices
Sydney diesel prices rose 1.2 cents per litre this past week. Current average diesel price is 180.2 cents per litre.
Looking Ahead
Average regular unleaded prices fell 7.6 cents per litre last week, and are now expected to fall to the mid 160s cents per litre over the next 7-10 days.
Average regular unleaded prices in Sydney should range between 196 cents per litre (at the high point of the current cycle) and 165 cents per litre (at the low point of the cycle).
The average price ranges for E10, Premium 95 and Premium 98 should be as follows:
- E10 – a high point of 195 cents per litre and a low point of 163 cents per litre.
- Premium 95 – a high point of 214 cents per litre and a low point of 182 cents per litre.
- Premium 98 – a high point of 219 cents per litre and a low point of 188 cents per litre.
Sydney's current average diesel price is 180.2 cents per litre – up 1.2 cents per litre this past week.
The current average LPG price in Sydney is 102.2 cents per litre – up 0.5 cents per litre this past week.
