Current fuel prices and prediction
- The average price for regular unleaded fuel in Sydney is 201.7 cents per litre (Monday evening).
- Average regular unleaded prices have risen 4.7 cents per litre this past week and are now expected to peak around the low 200s this week.
- The average diesel price in Sydney is 193.5 cents per litre.
- Regional prices: Last week average prices for regular unleaded fell 0.2 cents per litre while diesel fell 0.7 cents per litre.
World Crude Oil Prices
Over the previous week the average:
- Tapis crude fell $US 1.7 per barrel to $US 80.8 per barrel.
- Mogas (unleaded price benchmark) rose $US 0.6 per barrel to $US 86.8 per barrel.
- Gasoil (diesel price benchmark) fell $US 3.0 per barrel to $US 94.0 per barrel.
Sydney Wholesale Prices
Over the previous week the average:
- Regular unleaded fuel rose 0.1 cents per litre to 169.1 cents per litre.
- Diesel fuel fell 5.0 cents per litre to 176.5 cents per litre.
Sydney Diesel Prices
Sydney diesel prices fell 0.5 cents per litre this past week. Current average diesel price is 193.5 cents per litre.
Looking Ahead
Average regular unleaded prices have risen 4.7 cents per litre this past week and are now expected to peak around the low 200s this week.
Average regular unleaded prices in Sydney should range between 174 cents per litre (at the low point of the current cycle) and 203 cents per litre (at the high point of the next cycle).
The average price ranges for E10, Premium 95 and Premium 98 should be as follows:
- E10 – a low point of 172 cents per litre and a high point of 201 cents per litre.
- Premium 95 – a low point of 191 cents per litre and a high point of 223 cents per litre.
- Premium 98 – a low point of 197 cents per litre and a high point of 228 cents per litre.
Sydney's current average diesel price is 193.5 cents per litre – down 0.5 cents per litre this past week.
The current average LPG price in Sydney is 104.8 cents per litre – stable this past week.
